ABA Centers Opens Its First Pennsylvania Autism Care Center in Bala Cynwyd
ABA Centers of Pennsylvania, a for-profit care provider, has opened its first autism care center in Bala Cynwyd, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The company, which was founded in 2020, plans on opening two more centers in the Philadelphia suburbs later this year, in King of Prussia and Langhorne.
Prior to opening the 6,686-square-foot facility, ABA Centers of Pennsylvania was providing in-home service to around 40 children in the region, most of them in Montgomery County, Bucks County, and Philadelphia County.
The care provider focuses on applied behavior analysis, also known as ABA therapy. The approach to care that is based on play emphasizes positive reinforcement to help children with autism learn new skills and reduce problematic behavior, such as hurting themselves.
“When we make an impact in each [child’s] life, we make an impact in their siblings’ lives, in their parents’ lives, and in their teachers’ lives,” said Jane Philipose, executive director of the Bala Cynwyd clinic. “The ripple effect of the work that the team here does permeates throughout the entire community.”
