April is officially in full bloom, and so is Montgomery County!

From history to nature to the arts, here are some of the many exciting things happening this month in Montco that you won’t want to miss. 

Let’s Sing Taylor at the Keswick

For all Swifties near and far, the Keswick Theatre is here to deliver the ultimate live covers of Taylor Swift. Sing your heart out at Let’s Sing Taylor on Saturday, Apr. 6.

Solar Eclipse Viewing in Montgomery County

See the upcoming Solar Eclipse at Valley Forge National Historical Park on Apr. 8. You are invited to join staff and volunteers at the Wayne’s Woods picnic area (weather permitting) from 2-4:30 PM. The eclipse peak will be seen from 90 percent totality at about 3:23 PM.

There will also be a special Junior Ranger eclipse activity, a solar telescope set up, and a talk about the historical eclipses. 

Rev Up for Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run

Energize your April at the 18th Annual Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run! Participants run or walk through Valley Forge National Historical Park  (or join virtually), and proceeds from the event return to this beloved park. The event takes place on Apr. 21.

Learn about Maritime History of 18th-Century Philadelphia

Dive into the role of the riverfront in colonial Philadelphia from Researcher and Author Michael Schreiber as he speaks on the history and stories from the city’s docks. This program will occur on Saturday, Apr. 6 at 1:00 PM at the historic Pottsgrove Manor in Pottstown.

Enjoy the Outdoors on Earth Day

Here in Montgomery County, there are plenty of ways to experience the joy of Earth Day this Apr. 22. You can venture out on one of our hundreds of trails, explore amazing nature centers such as John James Audubon, celebrate at the Elmwood Park Zoo, go to an Earth Day festival, and even give back to the community.

Enjoy Blossoming Trees in the Area

Magnolia Tree at Historic Trappe: This beauty is behind the Henry Muhlenberg House. As the spring sun shines down on the tree, it illuminates the history of our community and reminds us of the timeless beauty of nature.  

Kwanzan Cherry Tree at Harriton House: The Kwanzan cherry tree at the Harriton House is a beautiful site to see. While you’re here, stroll the rest of the property to see what else is springing into bloom.
