Preparing for Passover means more this year at Beth David Reform Congregation in Gladwyne. It means preparing to vote since PA Voting Day is the first day of Passover, and Beth David, a polling location, opted to stay open for its neighbors.
Beth David’s clergy feel strongly about voting this year. Rabbi Beth Kalisch, who advocated to change the voting date, did say, “On our holiday that celebrates freedom, Beth David is proud to do our part for our country’s precious democracy.”
Cantor Lauren Goodlev believes it is their responsibility to maintain their polling place obligations and said, “We are pleased that we are able to stay open during the holiday which reflects our values of sharing in civic responsibility.”
Beth David is the polling location for the residents in the 2nd ward of Lower Merion Township, Precinct 1. The voters are all Gladwyne residents, and there are at least three “Gladwyne resident” poling locations.
The polls are open from 7 AM – 8 PM on election day.
