Zahav’s, an award-winning Israeli restaurant in Philadelphia, is known for its delicious hummus served at the beginning of every meal, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Made with tehina, chickpeas, lemon juice, salt, cumin and garlic, the hummus always gets rave reviews and now Zahav’s fans can buy the hummus at select Whole Foods in Montgomery County.
It is being sold in a 10-ounce package for $7.99 at the Whole Foods in Plymouth Meeting, the Wynnewood store, and the Whole Foods store in Jenkintown.
The hummus will also be available in certain Whole Foods stores in New York, Boston, and other parts of the Greater Philadelphia area.
A total of 12 Whole Foods will be carrying the popular brand of hummus.
Restaurateurs Steve Cook and Michael Solomonov first opened Zahav’s, which is located in Philadelphia’s Society Hill section, in 2008. The restaurant has become so popular that is hard to get a reservation.
Zahav’s offers two four-course tasting menus Tuesday through Saturday evenings. In the warmer months, there is also an outdoor patio where diners can enjoy appetizers or an à la carte menu without a reservation.
