Come out and enjoy family-friendly programming and hands-on activities at Valley Forge National Historical Park on Tuesday, December 19 for the 246th Anniversary of the March-in of the Continental Army.

On that date in 1777, the Continental Army arrived in Valley Forge, according to the National Park Service.

When you arrive at the park for the festivities, stop by the Visitor Center at Valley Forge to get an event program and enjoy some light refreshments.

The celebration will begin in the park theater behind the visitor center with a welcome video and a ¼-mile lantern-lit walk to Muhlenberg’s Brigade.

Along the journey, visitors will meet uniformed soldiers engaged in building shelters, receiving rations, and guarding soldier huts.

At Muhlenberg’s Brigade, reenactors will demonstrate what camp life was like at Valley Forge in 1777. Visitors can try on colonial clothing and learn how to play 18th-century games.

Activities at Muhlenberg’s Brigade will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Visitor Center at Valley Forge and The Encampment Store will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. if you’d like to do some holiday shopping.
