Abington residents interested in pickleball can test out the sport at the Ardsley Community Center in Glenside starting this week by taking part in a series of pickleball classes, writes Max Bennett for Patch.

Classes for Pickleball 101 start on Tuesday, November 14, while classes for Pickleball 201 start on Wednesday, November 15.

The beginners’ class will teach participants basic techniques and skills, while the 201 class will help more seasoned players improve shots, tactics, skills, and more.

Each level will offer six weeks of classes. Registration for residents costs $162 and for non-residents $176.

Pickleball 101 classes will run through December 19, while 201 classes will run through December 20.

Wednesday will also see the start of the round-robin pickleball match event. Play days will start at 10:30 a.m. and last until 11:55 a.m. and will take place on Wednesdays through December 20. Residents must pay a registration fee of $108, and non-residents have to pay $117.
