You can visit with one of America’s favorite families starting on Friday, October 13. The “Addams Family” at the Steel River Playhouse in Pottstown is bringing back all the Addams characters you’ve come to love to celebrate the Halloween season.

The show, which will run through the 29th on the main stage, will tell an original story that embraces the wackiness in every family.

Wednesday Addams is all grown up and has fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family and he has yet to meet her parents. She confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother.  Now Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s normal boyfriend and his parents. With book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. Liz McDonald directs, with Music Director Rebecca Shimer and Choreographer Maddi Boone.

“We have assembled a fantastic cast of singers, dancers and comedians for what is going to be a hilarious month of fun.  All of the iconic Addams characters are featured in this unexpected story about the various ways love presents itself in our lives. Young love. Old love. Love that is struggling. Love that is strong. Love of family. Even love of the moon! We are living in such a tumultuous time and this heartwarming musical teaches us that even through darkness love prevails.  We can’t wait to see you at the Playhouse!,” Director Liz McDonald said.

“The Addams Family” will run from October 13th through the 29th. Performances will be at 7 p.m. on the 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, and 27th and 28th.  Matinees will be at 2 p.m. on the 15th, 22nd, 28th and 29th.

In addition, there will be a relaxed performance at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 21st. We invite individuals with ADD, ADHD, Dementia, Autism, sensory sensitivities, or any patron who would enjoy a performance where they can freely express themselves to join us.
