As the Phillies are batting their way to the National League Championship Series, a Jenkintown couple is taking the time reminisce on how their favorite team served as a backdrop for their love story.

It was 2019 and Danielle DiCacco was attending a tailgate party at Citizens Bank Park, she tells Beatrice Forman of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

DiCacco was in Lot G, partaking in a game of dizzy bat, which involves spinning around a baseball bat for the same amount of time it takes to chug a drink.

While Danielle and her friends were having a gleeful time in the field, she looked up from spinning to see that her then-boyfriend Dan was down on one knee.

All of their family and friends were there to celebrate the proposal of the Jenkintown couple.

“I stumbled, slammed the bat down like Rhys Hoskins, and said yes,” she tells The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The pair got married in July of 2021. Other couples have reminisced about their proposals, first kiss, first date, or even first encounter at a Phillies game.

Another couple got engaged at a Phillies game last year.
