New Trends in Montgomery County Offer a Fresh Take on Classic Home Design
If you are looking to freshen up your home with a new look, you won’t want to miss these new home design trends identified by Philadelphia Magazine.
In Montgomery County, some of the hottest new design styles include a warmer palette of earthy tones, creamy textures, and sweeping murals, writes Emily Goulet for the magazine.
Instead of the traditional use of sterile whites, designers are using richer earthy tones and mixing them with soft textures and natural woods.
Far Studio in Bryn Mawr gave a bedroom a more sophisticated look with creamy texture, woven fabric bed coverings and linen curtains. The center piece is the rope-wrapped hanging globes by Cuff Studio.
The Far Studio also recently designed a dining room in Haverford. The desired understated drama was achieved with a looping Apparatus light fixture, a Cotswolds-inspired wall mural by Susan Harter Muralpapers, and rich velvet chairs.
Design Manifest based in Philadelphia also likes to use murals to add some playful elegance to a dining room. In a home in Bala Cynwyd, the design team created a more modern traditional look with a custom hand-painted mural, high-back Windsor chairs and a classic iron chandelier.
