The real estate investment company Korman Communities has big plans for expanding its hotel properties across the country as well as globally, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Korman, which is based in Plymouth Meeting, wants to expand its AKA Hotels & Hotel Residences portfolio by the end of 2024.

Larry Korman, president of AKA and co-CEO of Korman Communities, said that currently AKA has 16 properties in Philadelphia; Boston; New York; Washington, D.C.; Alexandria, Virginia; Miami and West Palm Beach, Florida; Los Angeles; and London.

The goal is to add at least 20 more properties in the U.S. and Canada by the end of next year in places like Austin, Texas, Nashville, and Toronto. Then in 2025, the brand will focus more on global expansion, particularly in Paris.

AKA will also be growing its a.kitchen and a bar concept spearheaded by restaurateur Ellen Yin.
