After Immigrating from Russia, Plymouth Meeting Couple’s Sustainable Apparel Brand Takes Flight

Plymouth Meeting Couple Fyodor and Julia Ustinov founded sustainable apparel brand Moon Mountain.

A Plymouth Meeting couple is reaping what they sow with their sustainable apparel and home goods brand. Julia and Fyodor Ustinov launched Moon Mountain years after immigrating to Montgomery County from St. Petersburg, Russia, writes Lisa Dukart for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Ustinovs researched the textile industry for years before deciding on what kind of business they wanted to launch. The Ustinovs eventually geared towards a sustainable clothing brand that uses cotton and linen to create apparel, bedding, and towels.

Cotton and linen are more biodegradable, and since they are natural fabrics, they are more comfortable, last longer, and do not contain microplastics.

The clothing offered by the brand includes loungewear, dresses, shirts, pants ranging from $34 to $289.

The Ustinovs design the pieces themselves, but they are manufactured in China. Their second collection debuted this summer, and all sales are direct-to-consumer.

The couple hopes to expand their business to include more variety in their apparel and home goods.
