Kind Financial, a market tech-based services start-up used for the legal cannabis economy is seeing new leadership after Montgomery County founder David Dinenberg stepped down in May, writes Joseph N. DiStefano for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Dinenberg founded the start-up in 2013 after his family moved to California. He raised $8 million from Hollywood elites, sports celebrities, and Main Line business owners, such as John Legend, former Sixers manager Billy King, and Main Line native Lindy Snider, the daughter of the late-Flyers owner Ed Snider.

In 2016, Kind sought partnerships with governments in states where cannabis was legal, but the efforts stalled due to the start-up lacking a board of directors.

In addition, shareholders were unable to track their investments. Now a group including Snider is paving a new road towards the company’s future.

The plan is to find a new CEO, raise more money, produce improved financial statements and relaunch the product, in the form of a mobile app. They also plan to use features such as incentives and tipping.

Read more about the financial services start-up and how the Conshohocken entrepreneur plans to revamp the company in The Philadelphia Inquirer.
