Patch and T-Mobile have been asking the community to nominate teachers who stand out in the classroom.

Brian Gauvin, a science teacher at Harriton High School in Rosemont, has been recognized by Patch and T-Mobile as an exemplary teacher.

He is also the Science Olympiad Teacher leader at the school.

Patch and T-Mobile have been asking the community to nominate teachers who stand out in the classroom, and a mother of one of Gauvin’s students nominated him, writes Max Bennett for Patch.

Carolyn Choh is the mother of Robert Choh Fleming. She said in her submission that Gauvin has inspired her son and many others to get more involved in STEM —Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

On why he deserves the recognition, she wrote:

“The insane hours he devoted to the students, even driving projects to the competition in a van on many occasions so that the projects would not get damaged. Working weekends and holidays to help the students get ready for the competition.”

And he did it all with a smile, she said.

Find out how you can nominate a teacher like Carolyn Choh did at Patch.
