7 Montco Schools Rank in Top 25 of Niche’s Best Public High Schools in Philadelphia Area

Montgomery County public high schools ranked well in new NIche listing.

Montgomery County ranks well on Niche’s Best Public High Schools in the Philadelphia Area, with seven schools earning spots in the Top 25.

The ranking is based on the analysis of key statistics such as state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, and teacher quality. Data from the U.S. Department of Education and millions of reviews from students and parents were also incorporated into the analysis.

Here are the Montgomery County public high schools that earned high rankings.

Lower Merion High School

Lower Merion High School in Ardmore ranked No. 6 among Philadelphia area public high schools. Niche gave the school an overall grade of A+, with high marks in academics, college prep, and teacher quality. There are 1,721 students in the school with a student-teacher ratio of 13 to 1.

Harriton Senior High School

Located in Rosemont, Harriton High School ranked No. 7 among Philadelphia area public high schools. Niche also gave Harriton an overall grade of A+, with high marks in academics, college prep, and teacher quality. There are 1,261 students in the school with a student-teacher ratio of 11 to 1.

Wissahickon Senior High School

Located in Ambler, Wissahickon High School ranked No. 17 among Philadelphia area public high schools. Niche gave the school an overall grade of A+, with high marks in academics, college prep, and teacher quality. There are 1,467 students in the school with a student-teacher ratio of 13 to 1.

Upper Dublin High School

Upper Dublin High School in Fort Washington ranked No. 21. This school also earned an overall grade of A+, with high marks in academics, college prep, teacher quality, and clubs & activities. There are 1,320 students in the school with a student-teacher ratio of 15 to 1.

Plymouth-Whitemarsh Senior High School

Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School in Plymouth Meeting ranked No. 23. This school also earned an overall grade of A+, with high marks in academics, college prep, teacher quality, and administration. There are 1,503 students in the school with a student-teacher ratio of 14 to 1.

North Penn Senior High School

North Penn High School in Lansdale ranked No. 24. This school also earned an overall grade of A+, with high marks in academics, college prep, diversity, and clubs & activities. There are 3,138 students in the school with a student-teacher ratio of 15 to 1.

Lower Moreland High School

Lower Moreland High School in Huntingdon Valley ranked No. 25. This school also earned an overall grade of A+, with high marks in academics, college prep, and teacher quality. There are 824 students in the school with a student-teacher ratio of 13 to 1.
