The Keystone State might be following Chester County’s footsteps through a four-day workweek bill. State Representative G. Roni Green, says she will soon introduce a bill that mandates a four-day work week with no pay reduction, writes Sarah Rump-Whitten for Fox Business.
This legislation will apply to companies with more than 500 employees, excluding ones that are small and mid-sized. The 40-hour work-week was first introduced in 1938 but with technological advancements increasing productivity, according to Green, there is more work that can be accomplished in less time.
According to research by 4 Day Week Global, 41 companies that tested the four-day workweeks found that employees reported less stress and burnout.
In May, Chester County, along with Dauphin and Lehigh County also proposed a similar bill to incentivize companies to introduce a four-day workweek.
