After investing $10 million in renovations, Landmark Developers has opened the 64,000-square-foot Elstowe Manor at the Elkins Estate as a wedding venue and boutique hotel, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The transformation is also underway on other buildings on the property to create more overnight accommodations and amenities.

Finding the right vision for the historic 42-acre property took a long time, but the proposal made by Landmark Developers before they acquired Elkins Estate seemed to hit the mark.

“This is, like, the most perfect solution,” said Amy Ragsdale, the property’s resident historian and a member of the Landmark team.

“Use it for what it was built for. Elstowe was built to entertain.”

Elstowe Manor was constructed in 1898. It was designed by architect Horace Trumbauer for businessman William L. Elkins.

Today, the manor features 33 new and renovated overnight accommodations along with a spacious ballroom. There is also a music room, library, and the dining room, among many others.

During the renovation, Landmark preserved most of the original manor. The developer has just added some necessary amenities, such as a sprinkler and HVAC system. Read more about the Elstowe Manor in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
