Hatfield Wawa Celebrated Opening with Hoagie-Building Competition

Wawa has opened a new store in Hatfield on N. Broad Street, writes Nicole Rosenthal for Patch.
Opening Day celebrations included a hoagie-building competition and tee-shirt giveaways.
The Hoagies for Heroes building competition starred local first responders. The Hatfield Township Police Department won the competition with their team making 23 hoagies in three minutes. The winning proceeds will benefit the Officer William J. Chapman Memorial Fund.
The new location on 1900 N. Broad Street joins two other area Wawas, one in Fairless Hills at 530 Lincoln Highway and one in Doylestown at 3659 N. Easton Road. There is also other Wawas in the Hatfield area at 2480 Bethlehem Pike and 200 Forty Foot Road.
Wawa is planning on opening 76 new stores throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and Florida in 2023.
Wawa CEO Chris Gheysens said last year that the company plans to open another 1,800 locations across the U.S. In Pennsylvania right now, there are almost 250 locations. Wawa’s plans for expansion include stores with travel centers.
