Royersford’s Kevin Heywood, a Pope John Paul II High School four-star offensive tackle, has decided he wants to continue his football career at Wisconsin, writes Evan Flood for Badger 247.

After his official visit to the school over the weekend, Heywood committed to head coach Luke Fickell and the Badgers.

The 6-foot-7 junior had plenty of offers to choose from, including from Alabama, Georgia, USC, Penn State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas A&M, Michigan, Miami, Pittsburgh, Stanford, and several more. He had visits set for Kentucky, Auburn, and USC for this month, but instead he was ready to make his final decision.

The lead recruiters for the talented athlete were assistant coaches Colin Hitschler and Jack Bicknell. He was heavily projected to choose the Nittany Lions before arriving in Madison Thursday night.

The Royersford native is the nation’s No. 25 ranked offensive tackle in the class of 2024, as well as the No. 266 ranked player overall, according to 247sports composite rankings. He is the second offensive lineman to be recruited so far from the 2024 class by Wisconsin.
