Local police helped the ducklings get out of a tight spot over the weekend.

After a family of ducks got themselves into quite a predicament, police officers in Upper Makefield Township worked hard to reunite the feathered troublemakers with their mother, writes Hayden Mitman for NBC10 Philadelphia.

On Sunday, shortly after 9 AM, a family of baby ducks found themselves trapped in a storm drain close to the intersection of Crimson Leaf Drive and Greenbriar Circle.

The responding officers took around an hour and a half to get all of the six trapped ducklings to safety. They had to access five separate storm drains to achieve this task, but they were determined not to leave until all of the feathered babies were safe.

“Needless to say, you know we weren’t leaving until we got them all out,” wrote the officers in a social media post. “So.. 90 minutes later, 5 storm grates lifted, a lot of back and forth, and some finagling, all 6 ducklings were rescued and returned to their brood.”

After being reunited with their mother, the ducklings jumped into a nearby pool before the entire family continued on their way.
