Ollie the Barn Owl, who lives with his owner, Molly, in Newville, got lost in Pottstown almost six weeks ago, during a birds of prey demonstration at Riverfront Park, writes Caitlin Rearden for WFMZ 69 News.

Ollie has been spotted several times over the last six weeks.

“Most recently he was spotted the last two nights on Route 73 going outside of Boyertown, by the cemetery,” said Wendy Wadsworth, who has been helping in the search.

The owner and the rest of the search party have placed flyers with Ollie’s image throughout the area, from Pottstown to Boyertown to Gilbertsville.

They are asking the public to look for the owl, especially during the daytime and in places such as sheds, gazebos, barns, carports, or other structures of that nature.

“The circle has become larger and larger and thank goodness we have people who are living in all those areas so we kind of have somebody on the ground all the time helping,” said Wadsworth.

It is imperative to find the bird since Ollie most likely will not survive winter if he is not brought home.
