This is the company’s second Chapter 11 bankruptcy in less than six years. The sale to CION will save up to 195 stores and almost 7,000 jobs across the country.

David’s Bridal, which is based in Conshohocken, is in talks with a potential buyer for some of the company’s assets, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

If the deal goes through, almost 195 of the wedding dress retailer’s stores could be saved. That would mean approximately 7,000 employees would still have their jobs.

The company would not name the interested buyer, however, and would only say that “advanced discussions” are going on.

A new sale hearing is scheduled for July 14, according to court documents.

David’s Bridal filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the District of New Jersey in April and for several months has been searching for a buyer for all or some of its assets.

The retailer, which was founded in Florida in 1950, has more than 300 stores in the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom, and additional franchise locations in Mexico. The company is owned by a group of lenders, including Los Angeles-based Oaktree Capital Group.
