A sweet ride, an entry the recent NMTCC car show in Lansdale.

The second edition of the annual North Montco Technical Career Center Education Foundation’s car show fired on all cylinders.

The April 22 event not only brought out an enthusiastic audience of car aficionados, it also raised a significant sum.

Those resulting funds will fuel North Montco Technical Career Center efforts, through the education foundation, to provide local students with advantageous career and educational opportunities.

The Entries

Owners of more than 85 vehicles registered for the event.

They were vying for first- or second-place recognition of their auto-body and mechanics work in six categories:

  1. Street rods
  2. Antique-classic survivor
  3. Muscle car
  4. Truck
  5. Import
  6. Student

Awards

Such unique vehicles deserved unique proof of the craftsmanship necessary to restore and operate them; therefore, the winners’ trophies were specially designed.

The awards given out were an undertaking of North Montco Technical Career Center students under instructor Robert Hunter. His Auto Collision class members in Lansdale designed and built the trophies using internal engine components.

The task of engraving the trophies’ plaques went to the Precision Machining students under North Montco educator John Jacobs.

Winning recipients and attendees were notably impressed by their ingenuity and thematic relevance to the event.

Winners

Deciding who got them was the difficult task given to Gina Pardovich, Administrative Director of North Montco.

From numerous impressive entries, she awarded the competition’s Directors Choice honor to entrant Jeremy Sisk and his 1951 Ford pickup.
