The new Plumbing Basics class at North Montco Technical Career Center will provide aspiring plumbers with an opportunity to learn the tools of the trade from master plumber Andrew Cappello.
The course is ideal for anyone interested in an entry-level position in the plumbing industry. Salaries start around $40,000 and can easily go over $60,000 with experience and an apprenticeship. The course is also a great resource for homeowners, landlords, and maintenance professionals.
The class will offer a combination of lecture and hands-on lab work. It will provide students with a broad understanding of the plumbing trade, including both the basics of plumbing theory and the processes and skills required to safely repair and install residential plumbing equipment and provide preventative maintenance.
The topics covered during the course include the repair or replacement of faucets, toilets, water heaters, and garbage disposals. The installation of appliances such as dishwashers will also be covered. The instructor will especially focus on safety, use of tools, along with the rules around zoning and permitting.
The class starts Oct. 30, 2019. More information can be found here or by calling Continuing Education at 215-855-7929.
