Montgomery County Board of Commissioners candidate Liz Ferry is front-and-center with her Republican outlook. Christopher Tremoglie profiled her platform for the Washington Examiner, a conservative news outlet from D.C.

In describing her platform, Ferry said, “I am pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, support our law enforcement community and public safety and leaving decisions regarding bail to the local district judges.

“I oppose school and business shutdowns due to COVID and fought the [Gov. Tom] Wolf administration to keep small businesses open.”

It’s a message that has resonated with some Montgomery County voters.

“I won in an area that is 30 percent Republican because I talk about commonsense conservative issues that families can relate to, such as property taxes, preserving open space, ensuring public safety, keeping schools and businesses open,” Ferry explained.

But she also asserts that she can garner the favor of county voters outside the core GOP.

“I do believe I am the Republican candidate who can appeal to independent voters who are fed up with the progressive agenda and want good government,” she claimed.

Ferry is positioning herself as tough on crime, tax-and-spend, and a “lack of transparency around our elections.”

Ferry, a U.S. Navy veteran who lives in Ambler, hopes she can be a catalyst for a local “Republican renaissance.”
