King of Prussia native Jordan Verni met professional surfer Ben Graeff on Instagram. Their courtship was a series of DMs, in-person meetings, and deep bonding. Elle Cashin chronicled the outcome — their wedding — in Brides.

Verni and Graeff got engaged in September of 2020 on a beach.

As wedding plans evolved, both agreed to sidestep the expected sand-and-surf setting. “We wanted our guests to see a different side of us,” Verni said. “Getting us out of our board shorts and bikini and into a ballgown and black tie.”

They chose the Ritz CarltonPhiladelphia, and overlaid the proceedings with a dream theme. It spoke to a phrase Graeff used often in his online content.

Verni chose her dress from one she saw on Instagram and fell in love with immediately. Graeff agreed to skip the beachwear and opt for an outfit with a burgundy Hugo Boss tuxedo jacket.

When it came to hair, Verni chose braids to reflect the romantic style of her dress.

Graeff surfed the morning of the ceremony and let his blond locks dry naturally, a choice that Verni found fit his overall lifestyle.

“We both really wanted to be ourselves,” she said. “If that meant crazy blonde hair, that’s what he did.”
