Glenside‘s wife and husband Margaret Haff and Nathan Koelper knew they both wanted children. But they were not set on trying right away, writes Anndee Hochman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The couple met online in 2016 and immediately hit it off. By July 2020, they were married.

They traded in a planned large wedding at the Philadelphia Cricket Club for a more intimate backyard ceremony with parents, siblings, and a few close friends.

A few months later, they were planning to fly out west for a ski trip, but their flight was canceled.

Haff was secretly relieved. She has been feeling flu-like symptoms, and she wanted to take a pregnancy test. It came back positive.

The future parents were surprised (they were not trying for a baby), but they were also delighted.

Not long after their first son, Peter John, was born, the couple was once again discovered that a sibling was on the way.

Nine months later, their second son, Christian William, arrived. They introduced him to his older brother by putting him on a pillow on the couch.

“Peter came over, and he was gentle and sweet and curious,” said Haff.
