Reece Udinski, a North Wales native son and former quarterback at Lansdale’s North Penn High School, spent a portion of Mar. 23 demonstrating his skills for a continent of NFL scouts. John O’Connor covered Udinski’s “audition” for the Richmond-Times Dispatch.

Udinski’s sports talent was honed in Montgomery County, where he played both football and lacrosse.

He initially attended the Virginia Military Institute on a Division I scholarship; he broke just about every passing record the school had.

His career there, however, was shortened by an ACL injury.

Udinski eventually transferred to the University of Richmond, where he achieved records that included one for most single-game completions (42).

The night before he demonstrated his abilities in front of the NFL scouts, he was understandably edgy.

“I’m not going to lie. I couldn’t even sleep last night,” he said. “When I laid down in bed, I just thought about where I started … I could never have dreamed of this.”

He was put through paces that included a weight-room workout and on-field demonstrations of agility drills, 40-yard sprints, and some pitch-and-catch action.

Udinsky felt he did well; the scouts, wary of each other in competing for talent, were publicly silent on their opinions of him.

The outcome will be revealed, however, during the Apr. 27–29 NFL Draft.

More on Reece Udinski is at the Richmond-Times Dispatch.
