The Cruaders celebrate after their 50–47 victory over Archbishop Wood.

The Lady Crusaders of Lansdale Catholic came out on top in a historic Feb. 27 game at the Palestra, winning 50–47 against Archbishop Wood. This earned the school its first Philadelphia Catholic League title, wrote Aaron Carter for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The sold-out crowd watched the Crusaders break the tie with wood after a three-pointer from the senior forward missed the hoop.

Olivia Boccella caught the ball at a three-point line with 23 seconds left in the game; she led the team with 17 points, writes Carter.

Senior guard Gabby Casey finished the game with 15 points, and Jaida Helm racked up 12 points.

Wood’s Kara Meredith led her team with 19 points.
