Penn Leather owner-operator Felix Fermin has announced he’s leaving his Harrisburg site to join the fashion array at King of Prussia Mall. Daniel Urie zipped up the details of the move in Penn Live Patriot-News.

Of his move eastward to Montgomery County’s shopping mecca, Fermin said, “I think that it will be the best choice of my life.”

The Penn Leather brand is all about clothing: jackets, boots, helmets, and such. Fermin hearkens back to a traditional approach to working with the material; he makes the wares himself, from scratch.

That business model enables customers the opportunity to purchase bespoke items in terms of style, cut, color, and size.

Better still, Fermin offers his products at wholesale prices, an advantage he passes onto clients by eliminating middle-man sales structures that increase costs.

At his King of Prussia shop, he will also repair leather items purchased elsewhere

Fermin believes his Montgomery County presence — albeit not opening until 2024 — will eventually increase his proximity to customers from Philadelphia, New York, and Maryland.

Penn Leather is one of several new brands at the mall. They include:

  • Razer, an experiential destination for gamers
  • BrüMate, a drinkware and coolers retailer
  • Balenciaga, a Parisian apparel store
