Margaritas Mexican Restaurant Collegeville, a Mexican restaurant in the Providence Town Center near Route 422, closed temporarily in Dec. 2022. A burst pipe cancelled operations, according to Facebook.

The loyal clientele, however, has been dedicated enough to travel to its Lansdale site for its signature dishes and traditional bar menu.

The brand had already had in place a reward system for customers willing to visit its other locations. A stamped passport for margarita patrons who were willing to travel tracked stops outside the Phoenixville-adjacent spot.

When interior flooding caused the closure, it seemed wise to leverage that program to urge fans to satisfy their spicy-food urges at the Lansdale site. And the idea has paid off. Collegeville diners have willingly made the commute, drawn by the food, the passport use, and other enticements like raffles.

The Collegeville crowd, however, is still eager to resume visits to its neighborhood version of Margarita’s.

The reopening, according again to Facebook, was announced for March but has obviously been delayed yet again.

Robert Brooke from Jeffersonville wrote, “We’ve missed the multiple flight flavors,” referring to the brand’s serving of four fruit-based margaritas.

Updates on the status of Margaritas Collegeville are at Facebook.

An interesting brand FYI about Margarita’s Collegeville: A taco record was set there in 2020.
