Gratitude for his Norristown upbringing — with its upsides and downsides — is leading local entrepreneur-philanthropist Lenny Bazemore and his wife to continue their borough support. Justin Heinze, in the Norristown Patch, reported their latest endeavor, a donation from the Bazemore Family Charitable Fund.

Bazemore is a steady contributor to Norristown.

His resources to do so have resulted from professional success as a real estate investor, developer, art sales consultant, and visual artist. Those latter skills have their foundations in his 2014 fine art degree from Montgomery County Community College.

Bazemore’s generosity has aided local organizations that include Habitat for Humanity and Elmwood Park Zoo.

His latest provision is $10,000 to the Norristown Washington Carver Community Center. The organization, founded in 1948, will use the funding to strengthen its ability to teach reading, writing, and financial literacy to residents.

“We believe the Norristown community will greatly benefit from this investment and thrive in the future because of it,” Bazemore said. “We believe in education and action.”

More on Lenny Bazemore, his deep ties to Norristown, and sustained interest in lifting it up are in the Norristown Patch.
