‘Young’ Auld Lang Syne: Montgomery County Sites Hold Family-Friendly New Year’s Eve Events

Dec. 31, with its late-night timeline and adult-beverage element, seems generally pitched at adults.
But Montgomery County’s welcome to 2023 includes several events designed to create a family-friendly New Year’s Eve.
Michelle Reese sifted through the confetti to include three in The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Christmas House, King of Prussia Mall
Christmas House is a fully immersive, indoor walk-through Yuletide attraction. Its themed rooms include the Harry Potter franchise, Elf, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, juiced up with not to engage not only the eyes but the ears and even nose as well (some displays are seasonally scented).
The “snow room” is an extra energy burner for young celebrants; they can have a snowball fight in there.
Ticket information is online.
Legoland Discovery Center, Plymouth Meeting
Lego bricks — all right angles, primary colors, and hard plastic — take on a softer vibe during Holiday Bricktacular, which runs through New Year’s Day. It features seasonal builds, family photo ops (on a Lego sleigh, for example), Lego-themed snowman and reindeer characters, and a mini-gingerbread-man hunt in its Lego cityscape of Philadelphia.
Tickets purchased through its website carry discounts.
Tinseltown Holiday Spectacular, Oaks
New Year’s Eve is the last chance to wander through this extensive, dazzling spread of lights, goodies, and entertainment. There’s plenty to do (photo ops, skating, a slide), but just the chance to enjoy the last sunset of 2022 outdoors, as a family, is enough reason to go.
Full details on Tinseltown costs and hours are here.
The complete regional wrap-up of family-friendly New Year’s Eve opportunities is at The Philadelphia Inquirer.
