After 35 years of protecting the residents of Montgomery Township, Sgt. Robert Hart, copying the career move of a close partner, has brought his law-enforcement career to an end. Jon Campisi, of the Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch, covered Hart’s professional decision to retire.

The career-exiting footsteps Sgt. Hart is following are, in more accurately, paw prints.

Hart’s long-term K-9 partner Jammer (a German Shepherd) trotted away from his professional duties in 2015 at the age of 10.

Hart and Jammer worked together for a decade, responding to more than 400 service calls over that period. They were credited with taking millions of dollars of narcotics off the streets.

Hart also had Jammer certified with the U.S. Police Canine Association, a national organization that verifies police-dog skills in tracking, narcotics detection, search/rescue, and other professional duties.

The Facebook announcement of Hart’s retirement yielded community comments that included:

  • “We’re grateful for your service and wish you well…”
  • “Congrats, Dad! So proud of you.” (from Emily Hart)
  • “Awesome job Sergeant Hart, also my baby brother.” (from Patricia Pasceri, Hart’s sister)

More on the retirement of Sgt. Robert Hart is at the Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch.
