Two Montgomery County businesses in the brewing industry contributed to a statewide collaboration to produce PA Pride.

It’s said that too many cooks spoil the broth. But beer, as anyone knows, isn’t broth. For that reason, Pa., has again embarked on a statewide collaboration of expertise and ingredients to create PA Pride, a beverage series that connects craft breweries across the commonwealth. Breweries in PA poured forth the details of this latest joint effort.

This latest line of beers coming from the PA Pride think tank is the program’s third 2022 release. The point behind the ongoing releases is to celebrate the state’s rich agricultural history and the skill of its craft brewers. Even the can artwork reflects the theme.

Montgomery County made two contributions to the 2022 PA Pride’s Multi-Grain Saison.

Hops came from Zuckerman Honickman, King of Prussia. And most of the brewing was done at Bald Birds Brewing in Audubon.

Patrick Countryman, Head Brewer of Bald Birds, described the beer as “a Belgian-style saison containing a complex, earthy blend of barley, rye, buckwheat, and sorghum, and with floral and grapefruit notes. In addition, customers can expect subtle notes of pepper and spice with a touch of sweetness.”

The only other collar-county participant in this latest collaboration was from Deer Creek Malt House in West Chester. Its grain and malt were used.

More than 20 breweries across the state carry the beer in 16-ounce cans, and several breweries have it on draft.

More on this collaborative effort is at Breweries in PA.
