Jill Arnstein, a former litigation lawyer in Plymouth Meeting, is enjoying the second chance at love she received with her college sweetheart, Jesse, writes Kellie Patrick Gates for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The couple met at Rutgers-Camden School of Law in 1991.

“She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life, and within a couple of days I fell head over heels in love with her,” said Jesse.

They soon started going out, but Jill had to decide between Jesse and her first love. She chose the latter.

She married and started working for a small firm in Plymouth Meeting. However, things did not work out. When Jesse heard she was getting a divorce in 1997, he contacted her again. She was elated to receive his letter and went to visit him in California. They were married by 1999.

They have been together ever since, managing to work through Jesse’s frequent absences due to his work as an antiterrorism specialist. Jesse retired in 2019 from the military while Jill left her job at Jewish Family Services in 2021.

The couple now enjoy traveling, riding their tandem bike, gardening, and organizing elaborate holiday celebrations.
