North Wales’ human relations commission has found its newest member in Brittany Kohler. She is already affecting change at the county level and now hopes to do the same locally, writes Dan Sokil for The Reporter Online.

The borough council unanimously voted at the start of August to name Kohler to the post left vacant by a board member who did not seek reappointment at the end of last year.

“I look forward to working alongside the other members of the human relations commission, to better protect and promote equality in our community,” said Kohler. “I’m also the president of the Montco LGBT Business Council and really excited to be a part of something that is on a local level, in the town that I live in.”

Councilwoman Wendy McClure called Kohler’s resume “unbelievable.” Meanwhile, councilwoman Sarah Whelan was especially impressed with Kohler’s recognition on City & State Pennsylvania’s 2022 Pride Power 100 list.

“I think that’s outstanding,” said Whelan. “We’re very lucky to have you and have you offer your time to the borough.”

Kohler’s appointment on the commission is through 2024.
