AmerisourceBergen is planning a step forward into digital therapeutics (DTx).

Conshohocken’s AmerisourceBergen has announced its plans to launch DTX Connect, its first foray into digital therapeutics (DTx). This med-tech innovation delivers medical interventions directly to patients using evidence-based, clinically evaluated software to treat, manage, and prevent a broad spectrum of diseases and disorders.

DTx Connect is its proposed platform that will seamlessly integrate with an electronic medical record (EMS), enabling physicians to easily access and order prescription and nonprescription therapies. Further, it provides an e-prescribing workflow to subsequently monitor patient fulfillment.

A rapidly growing category within digital health, DTx delivers clinical interventions directly to patients via software to treat maladies that include behavioral health conditions and diabetes.

Key features include:

  • E-prescriptions through EMS
  • Efficient dispense and fulfillment via downloadable prescriptions
  • Support services to ensure patient engagement through therapies
  • Patient status alerts that inform physicians of therapy regiment milestones, ensuring ongoing patient engagement

“DTx Connect, in addition to AmerisourceBergen’s patient support and market access consulting services, enables us to deliver enhanced support across the product lifecycle, helping to advance accessibility,” said Jason Dinger, SVP of Strategy and Innovation at AmerisourceBergen.
