Readers finally have a place where they can do their book-related shopping in one of the largest malls in the country, reports Kim Douglas for Main Line Today

Scott Minor, from Pottstown is approaching his one year anniversary of Bookish at the King of Prussia Mall.

Scott and wife Becky Minor had previously opened a pop-up bookstore between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve 2019 as a tryout, and it worked.

Now the books have a home in the mall. It’s been years since there has been a mall bookstore, the last retail store being Borders.

“The biggest benefit is the relationship we have with the authors we carry. We carry indie authors, local authors and bestselling authors in a full range of genres,” Scott notes.

Bookish carries a broad inventory of books, many signed by authors, along with exclusive editions not available in other stores, focusing on hardbacks.

Scott says he isn’t trying to compete with Amazon. “We lean heavy into science fiction and fantasy. It’s what my wife Rebecca writes, and those books are the most beautiful. From there, we focus on gifts—greeting cards, enamel pens, journals.”

It also offers a variety of uniquely bookish gifts, including wall art and pins.
