Wyndmoor’s Latest Pizzeria Offers New Twist on Hawaiian Pizza

Wyndmoor is now home to three pizzerias, with the latest addition opening its doors earlier this month, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Terra Nova Woodfired Pizza & Grill is a takeout located at E. Willow Grove Avenue. Along with the usual suspects, and offers a new take on the often maligned Hawaiian pizza.
The Sweet Leilani is a Hawaiian-style pizza with tomato-mango chutney created by well-traveled chef John McLaughlin, who learned his pizza craft from one of the top Italian chefs around, Pete McAndrews.

This addition perfectly balances the zingy pepper jack cheese with sweet grilled pineapple and smoky chunks of bacon.
The 12-inch pizza is then baked in a wood-fired oven, which gives it an additional punch.
The menu also includes many other varieties of pizza to choose from, including Sabina, a white pie with goat cheese, mushrooms, and umami mushroom sauce, and Smokin’ Joe, with roasted chicken, smoky gouda, Philly-style BBQ sauce, and fried onion.
For those who are not in the mood for a pizza, there are crispy chicken wings and oven-roasted Brussels sprouts, among several other options.
The eatery has both honey-wheat crusts along with a gluten-free alternative.
