Time For Great Photos at a Popular Sunflower Field Just One Turnpike Exit Away From Mongomery County
Lovers of huge flowers from near and far are popping up at Gunther Sunflower Field in nearby Chester Springs. They’re there to enjoy — and photograph — the nearly 2,000 sunflowers currently in full bloom on the one-acre lot. Bill Rettew reported on this natural Instagram photoshoot location for The Daily Local News.
The bright yellow and green sunflower field is the work of Blake Gunther, a 27-year-old entrepreneur and author. He and an assistant planted, reaped, and sowed the field two months ago.
This is now the second year Gunther has been growing the sunflowers.
“It was so well-loved last year that I definitely wanted to do it again,” Gunther said. “It’s special. It’s wonderful that it can change someone’s day or lighten their mood.”
Taking photos at the field is free, but Gunther does have a donation box for The Believe and Achieve Foundation that helps at-risk youth and underprivileged kids both in Chester County and Montgomery county.
Last year, these donations totaled $3,000.
