Philadelphia Eagles Name Perkiomen Valley’s Rob Heist as High School Coach of the Week.

Philadelphia Eagles have named Perkiomen Valley High School Head Coach Rob Heist as the first Eagles High School Coach of the Week for the 2021 season, writes Jillian Oddo for philadelphiaeagles.com.

Heist has spent 18 years on the sideline, the last six as the head coach at his alma mater. Prior to that, he was an assistant for the Perkiomen Valley since 2007 and he coached the freshman football team before that.

During the home opener game on September 10, the Vikings once again showed how destructive they can be with Rob Heist leading them by beating Downingtown West High School 55 to 20.

“I’m very grateful,” said Heist. “The Eagles organization has been wonderful to our program during my time as the head coach. I think it’s amazing the outreach the Eagles have done and how they try to incorporate youth sports as best as possible at the professional level. This is a great honor for me.”

Rob Heist was previously named as the Eagles High School Coach of the Year in 2016. As this week’s winner, he also received $1,500 that will go towards his program.

“We’re a tight-knit program and a tight-knit community. I love being around the kids; they keep me young. We laugh a lot and work hard, but we try to have fun as best we can. I just love those relationships,” said Heist.
