Spring-Ford Grad Headed to MLB with Milwaukee Brewers

Spring-Ford Area High School graduate Ryne Moore was selected in the eighteenth round of the MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers, according to a staff report from the ODU Sports.

The Limerick Township native was the 537th overall pick.

Moore, who played both baseball and hockey while in high school, led ODU and was tied for 22nd in the nation with nine wins.

He was 9-1 for the season with an ERA of 3.16. In the most recent season, he pitched in 17 games and started 14. He also pitched a team-high 85.1 innings.

He managed to notch 80 strikeouts with 22 walks. He allowed 30 earned runs, with opponents hitting just .236 off of Moore.

In his potentially final outing as part of the ODU team during the 2-1 NCAA Regional win over South Carolina, he pitched seven innings, allowing three hits and one run along with eight strikeouts.

Moore’s great play earned him a spot t on the Columbia All-Regional Team and accolades from the second-team All-Conference USA.

Overall, in his 56 appearances, he is 17-8 with a 3.82 ERA and 35 starts.
