Penn State Great Valley will host its ninth annual golf outing to support campus programs on Tuesday, Aug. 24 at the Applecross Country Club in Downingtown.

This year’s outing will support the Great Valley LaunchBox powered by Penn State, which encourages community members, students, and faculty to generate innovative and commercially viable solutions to existing and emerging business and social needs.

Penn State alum and former NFL defensive tackle Brandon Noble will join participants on the greens during the day. As the event’s keynote speaker, Noble will discuss his time at Penn State, community involvement, and more.

Brandon Noble played for the Nittany Lions in the 1990s, leading the team in sacks and earning second-team All-Big Ten honors in 1996, and went on to play in the NFL from 1999 to 2004. He currently owns a restaurant/catering company that operates Bright Spot Cafe in Newtown Square and Shoobie’s by Bright Spot in Sea Isle City, N.J.

He is also a partner at Blue White Media, which produces the Obligatory PSU Pregame Show and the Obligatory PSU Podcast. In his free time, he serves as defensive coordinator for the Downingtown East High School football team.

Multiple levels of sponsorship are available and proceeds from the outing will be matched by the university, thus doubling the impact for the Great Valley LaunchBox program endowment.
