Michael Colonnello has always been proud he is from Montgomery County. “I was born in Lansdale and grew up in Towamencin Township behind Freddy Hill Farms. I went to General Nash Elementary School, then Pennfield Middle School, graduating from North Penn High School in 2000,” he notes.

“During my senior year at NP, ESPN filmed a documentary on our football team—we were ranked 17th in the country—called “The Season.” It was an incredible team to be a part of in which I have made lifelong friendships. I am proud to call myself a Knight!” he says.

Michael is the Vice President of CBIZ Insurance Services, Inc, focusing on the protection of his clients business’ and their families. “Being able to provide comfort and security to their employees and making sure the products that we partner with deliver on their promises.”

Michael Colonnello has many people to recognize and thank for how they have shaped his career and made an extreme impact on the growth and trajectory of his profession within risk management. “My Father, Bill Colonnello, my brother, Steve Colonnello, and my Father-in-law, Bob Gamble—each of these men have been true role models for me not only in business but also in life,” Michael expresses.

“They have taught me how important family and friends are, as well as making sure you work hard and deliver the utmost in professional service to the clients we represent at CBIZ. I must also identify Peter Christian, my colleague, mentor, and friend at CBIZ,” he says.

“Peter has been a tremendous advisor and teacher for my ten years at CBIZ and he has shaped my career within our risk management practice in Plymouth Meeting. I look forward to following in his footsteps with the foundation he is laying,” Michael Colonnello shares.

There is no better place to live and work than Montgomery County, PA, Michael feels. “It’s the third-largest county within the state and has everything a young professional could want. It’s a great place to work, raise a family, and grow. From KOP to Skippack to Lansdale, the citizens of Montco are first-class and diverse,” he declares.

“It’s an easy commute to Philadelphia, and a hop, skip, and jump to New York, Baltimore, or DC. Why would you live anywhere else?”
