This time last year, we as a nation came together to support Black Americans in the wake of a nationwide movement in support of Black Lives Matter.

Part of supporting this national movement included observing Juneteenth, a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the southern United States.

Now celebrated annually on June 19 throughout the United States, Juneteenth continues to gain national and federal recognition

We invite you to join us, here in Montgomery County, as our communities gear up for a day of equal observation and celebration this Juneteenth.

POTTSTOWN JUNETEENTH FESTIVAL

Head to Pottstown for the community’s Juneteenth festival! Featuring games, food trucks, vendor items, and other activities, the festival will be held in Manatawny Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival is brought to the community by Troy Rivera and Nate Smith, both of Pottstown, in partnership with the Pottstown Branch of the NAACP.

In June 2020, the group(s) organized the successful “Pottstown Rally for Peace and Equality”. It inspired speeches, prayers, and a peaceful march as a public sign of unity against racial discrimination and injustice. This year, the Juneteenth festival continues the mission of promoting equality, peace, and community.
