Dozens of the Manor College community received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccination last Wednesday.

Manor College partnered with Walmart to provide the vaccine to members of the Manor community.

Members of the community 12 and older were eligible to receive the first dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine thanks to a partnership between the college and Walmart.

“We wanted to support the community by being an accessible, open location for vaccine distribution in an effort to get as much of our Manor family vaccinated as possible,” Allison Mootz, Vice President and Dean of Student Affairs, said.

Those receiving the vaccine on Wednesday ranged from 12 to 84 years old. The oldest person to receive the vaccine on Wednesday was 84 years old.

Two members of the community traveled from Germany to visit family in Pennsylvania and came to the Manor vaccination clinic to receive their shot.

Those who received the first shot on Wednesday will return to the college for their second dose on June 9.
