June 30 COVID-19 Update: Montgomery County Finishes June with Super-low Number of Cases; 60% Of Pennsylvanians Age 18+ Fully Vaccinated

Montgomery County reported 37 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the last seven days (June 23-29th) bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 59,228 countywide since March 7, 2020.

There are currently 11 people hospitalized in Montgomery County hospitals due to severe COVID-19 symptoms. Of those COVID-19 patients, 0 are on ventilators.

There are zero new COVID-19 deaths reported in Montgomery County since June 23, 2021. The current total deaths are numbered at 1,332 in Montgomery County, since March 7, 2020.

Vaccine Information

  • The COVID-19 vaccine is available for everyone age 16 and over who lives or works in Montgomery County, as well as the Pfizer vaccine for teens aged 12-15.
  • Anyone under the age of 18 attending a COVID-19 vaccination clinic must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Pennsylvania COVID-19 Update:
The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 162 new positive cases of COVID-19 over the last week, bringing the statewide total to 1,211,869 cases.

There are 341 people currently hospitalized due to severe COVID-19 symptoms, with 57 of those people in intensive care.

There were 13 new COVID-19 deaths reported across the State over the weekend, bringing the State’s total death registry to 27,670.

Federal data representing all 67 counties:

  • According to the CDC, as of Monday, June 28, Pennsylvania has administered first doses of vaccine to 62.6% of its entire population, and the state ranks 7th among all 50 states for first doses administered by percentage of population.
  • According to the CDC, as of Monday, June 28, 60% of Pennsylvanians age 18 and older are fully vaccinated while 75.3% have received their first dose. 
  • According to the CDC, as of Monday, June 28 Pennsylvania ranks 5th among all 50 states for total doses administered.

Statewide data representing the 66 counties within the Department of Health’s vaccine jurisdiction:

  • Vaccine providers have administered 11,635,434 total vaccine doses as of Tuesday, June 29.
  • 5,371,801 people are fully vaccinated; with a seven-day moving average of more than 17,500 people per day receiving vaccinations.
  • 1,333,173 people are partially vaccinated, meaning they have received one dose of a two-dose vaccine.
  • 6,704,974 people have received at least their first dose.
  • This week, a total of 13,746,000 doses will have been allocated through July 3:
    • 299,960 first/single doses will have been allocated this week.
    • 299,960 second doses will have been allocated this week.
  • To date, we have administered 11,635,434 doses total through June 28:
    • First/single doses:  6,704,974 administered
    • Second doses:  4,930,460 administered

The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance to wearing a mask where required by law, rule and regulations, including healthcare, local business and workplace guidance.

For the protection of themselves and others, individuals who have not yet been vaccinated or are partially vaccinated, are still encouraged to wear a mask when in public.

Stay well:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
  • Cover any coughs or sneezes with your elbow, not your hands.
  • Clean surfaces frequently.
  • Stay home to avoid spreading COVID-19, especially if you are unwell.
  • If you must go out, please wear a mask when in a business or where it is difficult to maintain proper social distancing.
