King of Prussia-based Neuma helps pharmaceutical and medtech companies set up for success as they introduce their products to market, writes Laura Brzyski for Philadelphia Magazine.

The company was launched in July 2017 by engineers Nick Ciccarelli, Alexis Dechelette, and Shaun Devitt. The trio had previously worked for Unilife. But after the company filed for bankruptcy they decided to harness their specialized skills and continue turning novel technologies into marketable products.

Neuma focuses on electromechanical and drug delivery services and uses designed for production – or DFP – services to assist companies in improving their designs’ testability, manufacturability, assembly, and sterilization capacity.

This both helps accelerate the transition to commercialization and reduces cost, turnaround time, and risk.

The company’s DFP aids clients better understand where they are in the development process and where they should go next. This could be developing a prototype or obtaining the infrastructure required for manufacturing.

“Neuma continues to keep rolling out medical solutions so that people can live healthier lives now and in the future,” said Ciccarelli. “We can’t let promising technology go to waste, and we definitely can’t let down people who need that technology most.”
