A new 124-suite Residence Inn hotel has opened its doors in the former home of Pencoyd Iron Works in Bala Cynwyd, writes Kennedy Rose for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Residence Inn Philadelphia Bala Cynwyd, which debuted this week, has many industrial aspects of the former foundry. The hotel features a gritty façade complemented by various industrial elements, such as beams and bricks.

It will also offer two restaurants by Chef Nicholas Elmi, a James Beard Award finalist and Top Chef winner, called Lark and The Landing Kitchen.

The hotel specializes in suites with all necessary amenities such as workspaces, free high-speed internet, and a kitchen fully equipped with appliances.

Studio and one-bedroom accommodations can be booked for any length of stay.

Residence Inn also has an indoor heated saltwater pool, business center, and dry cleaning services, along with a 24-hour onsite food and beverage market.

Additionally it is close to City Avenue and Manayunk, as well as the I-76 and Schuylkill River.

The hotel is owned by Main Line LP and operated as a Marriott franchise managed by Classic Hospitality LLC of Bala Cynwyd.
