The Philadelphia region’s Make-A-Wish chapter will soon open a new state-of-the-art home in Bala Cynwyd, called the Wishing Place, writes Erin Flynn Jay for the Main Line Today.
Created to bring wishes to life, the new space will welcome children and their families into a vibrant, uplifting environment, where colorful and thoughtfully designed elements will turn the excitement of waiting into its own special experience.
The Wishing Place, formally named the Vince and Lynne Laino Wishing Place in honor of Make-A-Wish’s longtime supporters, was created to capture the heart of the organization’s mission, bringing wish journeys to life from start to finish.
“For years, our wish families shared that they wanted a more immersive and welcoming environment — somewhere that didn’t feel like an office, but rather a destination filled with hope, imagination, and possibility,” said Jennifer Davis, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware, and Susquehanna Valley. “Inspired by similar spaces across the Make-A-Wish network and shaped by input from our staff, volunteers, and donors, the Wishing Place was designed to be a physical embodiment of what a wish represents: joy, hope, and transformation.”
Bala Cynwyd was selected for its perfect mix of accessibility, community spirit, and warmth.
